  • all time: my current top ten.

    • honorable mentions will be noted throughout the stacks.

  • character crushes: character-driven contemporaries that will stick with you.

  • dinner party name drops: books to name drop at dinner parties, from classics to prize-winning works of art.

  • love stories: fun fact: a book can’t be considered a romance unless it has a happy ending. i’m not stuck on a happily ever after, though i can promise that the best of the best are realistic.

  • outta this world: books with a bit of magic to ‘em.

  • throwbacks: books that take you back.

  • trigger warning: the darkest of the dark.

  • true stories: nonfiction gold mines of information or memoirs of emotional resonance.

  • unhinged girlies: chaotic main characters.

step two. take note of the ratings listed beside each book. that’s how you’ll know what’s worth your time.

  • masterpiece: literary gold. five out of five stars.

  • bingeworthy: i’ve probably ignored everyone & everything to finish said book. four out of five stars.

  • pleasant: worth the read, not worth gushing about. three out of five stars.

  • skippable: not worth the hype. two out of five stars.

  • DNF: did not finish. life’s too short to finish a bad book. one out of five stars.

step three: share the library with your friends & happy reading.
